Marathon has officially launched! As of 1:00 PM EST on March 5, 2026, players worldwide can now dive into the cutthroat world of Tau Ceti IV.

The game is available now on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox with full cross-play and cross-save support, allowing you to team up with friends regardless of platform and take your progress wherever you go.

Complete the following milestones to unlock items when the full game releases on March 5th

Bungie has officially announced that Marathon will launch on March 5, 2026, for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, featuring full cross-play and cross-save support.

A new gameplay trailer introduced Gantry, an agent for the MIDA faction, highlighting the game's narrative structure where players complete contracts for six rival factions to unlock Codex entries and uncover the fate of the Tau Ceti IV colony.

• Standard Edition: The "Zero Step" cosmetic pack (weapon style, charm, emblem)
• Deluxe Edition: Includes a Premium Rewards Pass voucher, 200 SILK tokens, and the "Midnight Decay" cosmetic set for weapons and four Runner classes (Vandal, Destroyer, Assassin, Thief).
• Collector's Edition: Features a 1/6-scale Thief Runner statue and other physical collectibles.

A new video was released showcasing the different runner shells in Marathon. Each shell has a unique gameplay archetype (e.g., combat, stealth, intel, support) with distinct silhouettes to help strategize encounters. The video details several specific shells like Destroyer, Assassin, Recon, Vandal, Thief, Triage, and a special scavenger mode shell, Rook.

Bungie has announced that Marathon will be released in March 2026. The game will be available for $39.99 USD on PC and consoles.

The 4th closed playtest (7th overall) has been announced. Details are sparse, but it is expected to be similar to the previous NDA closed playtests, with a focus on testing new features and gathering feedback from players.

The playtest will run from 12/12 - 12/15, from 2pm - 8pm PT.

The 6th playtest will invite the April play testers back to test the latest updates. Unlike the April test, this one is under NDA. Additional testers may be invited as the test progresses.
